Manny Pacquiao and Julio Cesar Chavez are likely to co-train for their November bouts under Freddie Roach and strength and conditioning guru Alex Ariza, Ariza told RingTV.com.
Pacquiao will be preparing for a Nov. 12 defense of his WBO welterweight belt against arch rival Juan Manuel Marquez, and Chavez, for a Nov. 17 defense of his crown against Peter Manfredo Jr.
Ariza said that the fighters' workouts will likely be split between Pacquiao's Baguio City, Philippines, and the Wild Card Gym owned by Roach in Hollywood, Calif.
"We're going to make arrangements for them to be out here [at Wild Card Gym,] or Julio will spend at least three weeks in the Philippines with us. That schedule will be left up to Julio's management, Billy Keane, and Freddie Roach," said Ariza.
"I can tell you that both of us will be training Chavez for his fight against Peter Manfredo. That fight is going to be on Nov. 17 the week after Manny Pacquiao's fight with Juan Marquez."
Ariza said that it is undetermined whether or not he and Roach will be a part of Chavez Jr.'s planned first defense of his belt on Sept. 24, for which Chavez is said to be considering Ronald Hearns and David Medina.
"Hearns and Medina are the two front-runners," said a source familiar with the negotiations for Chavez's next bout. "One of those guys will be fighting Chavez."
